THE EXHIBITION

At the beginning of September I hosted The Silo Collective annual art exhibition. I have organised two exhibitions before (with the help of my cousins), but this exhibition was the first one I organised on my own under The Silo Collective platform. I chose all the artists and artwork to work alongside The Collective’s vibrant aesthetic. The artists were both established and emerging which meant that we had a large variety of works.

The exhibition is very important to me as it was the first indication that I could start my own platform working alongside creatives when I first hosted an exhibition in 2019. The purpose of the exhibition came about to promote emerging artists and a space for young artists to be able to exhibit, some making their first ever art sales. I wanted to continue this for The Silo Collective 2023 art exhibition, as well as including established artists.

Many of our artists have since had commissions following on from the exhibition or been picked up by local galleries and art dealers. This means everything to us and a clear reason for us to carry on with this event annually.

Our meaning of a 'collective' is a collection of objects, people and ideas. We want to celebrate this by partnering with creatives and building a community of like minded characters to inspire and learn from one another. The exhibition is the perfect outlet to come together and celebrate these different artists.

We hope you enjoyed it and the large variety of works and artists we represented.
